Welcome
This is a place for all tenants of the abysmal Steve (Stephen) and Janine Barasch to share their stories and experiences living in one of their rental properties. Widely known as the worst landlords in San Luis Obispo (and the United States as a whole) hopefully this blog will serve as an outlet for renters to voice their opinions and complaints to save future renters from the same experiences.

definitely one of the worst humans alive, huge tool. So glad that someone put time into making this website!!!
ReplyDeleteSteve and Janine Barasch are unscrupulous, dishonest, unethical and GREEDY! Their homes are livable at best, however, once the lease is signed, he does NO repairs, instead he accuses the tenants of causing damage, threatens to charge then for every repair, and ultimately uses eviction threats to avoid further communication. The hoe at 520 Grand has a possum and rat infestation under the deck . When this was mentioned to Steve, he immediately accused them of leaving food around the home, yard and open trash cans, and within a week he said that the lease would be terminated at the end of the semester. He did NOTHING to eliminate the rodents!. BEWARE, at the end of the year when tenants attempt to get their deposit back, he makes up damages, fabricates the repairs he did, makes blatantly false accusations, produces "receipts" from other home repairs and charges the tenants for them, and basically keeps the majority of the deposit, no matter how clean the home is. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM unless you do not mind being hassled, accused, belittled, and stolen from.
